“Diversity is not a project, it is about people’s attitudes, it’s an education issue and we need to see visible leaders where people can recognise themselves in order to do better.”
This was one of the challenges raised by Sarah Luxford at an Interop London panel session. Sarah also told the panel that “People need to be encouraged to look and understand the importance of gender equality in the workplace…”
Further issues that were raised at the discussion included the integration of flexible work schemes, STEM subjects from an early age and enterprise support as being essential to bringing more women into the industry.
