Nexec Leaders Director Sarah Luxford was invited to a roundtable at Downing Street as part of the SVC2UK programme to discuss the challenges and opportunities for female led start-ups in the international markets.
The roundtable consisted of 20 female founders & executive leaders from companies including Tom Tom, Google, MoveGuide, Love Home Swap and was hosted by Special Advisor to David Cameron Daniel Korski and Janet Coyle of SVC2UK. As Co-founder of TLA Women in Tech group Sarah was delighted to take part in this energetic discussion bringing together female business leaders, serial entrepreneurs and founders of high growth tech companies discussing how they can scale up their businesses and become world beaters.
Specific areas covered included access to funding, key talent hiring and using the UK as the HQ of choice for global tech businesses.
Commenting on the many ideas discussed, Sarah said:
“All companies must be thinking of creating a diverse workforce from the start as a strategic imperative. Having the opportunity to create a company with that in mind, from day 1, will set you in good position to receive the benefits we know a diverse workforce brings.”
Further initiatives are being planned and Nexec Leaders is proud to be part of driving change through technology businesses for the benefit of founders, investors and all employees.
